Throughout the year we have a number of competitions we compete in as both individuals and teams. We encourage all members to help represent the club where they can and representing NMC at competitions is the best way to show other clubs and competitors why we are the best.
Club competitions have been held ever since the club formed back in 1986. They are the backbone and most frequent social aspect of the club for club members. We hold our club contest on the 3rd Sunday of each month.
An over 50s longboard get together, proudly hosted by the NMC exclusively for Old Farts. The Wrecks & Relics celebrates the fact that we are still getting into the water and enjoying the sport of surfing.
The Noosa Malibu Classic grew from a weekend contest in 1992 to the current 9-day event with film, art, music & parties running parallel to the surfing. Generally held in March each year, The Noosa Festival of Surfing attracts legends...
Back in the day we started with a Two Way contest, then we grew to a Three Way contest, then a Four Way and now a Five Way contest. The Five Ways is a competition of clubs, the clubs being Noosa, Alex Heads, Caloundra, Pacifique (Bargara) and now Mudjimba.
As well as the four major competitions above, Noosa Malibu Club members regularly compete and represent in other competitions like the World Surfaris Coast of Origins and The Caloundra Fun in the Sun team Challenge just to mention a few. Members have gone on to compete and even win in international competitions including the Long boarding World titles.
