The Noosa Malibu Classic grew from a weekend contest in 1992 to the current 9-day event with film, art, music & parties running parallel to the surfing. Generally held in March each year, The Noosa Festival of Surfing attracts legends, pros and amateurs from across the nation & around the globe. Surfing First Point’s world-class longboard wave with only 5 others in the water is good enough reason for most.
The wider community enjoys the spectacle and the town benefits from thousands of visitors. Sharing of our surfing culture, pageantry & heritage has become as important as the competition. Many people are responsible for getting it to its 31st successful year.
